Avery Ann Hallows
"Our Sweet Angel"
Avery came down from heaven for just a brief visit on March 10, 2009. She came and left us, both on the same day. She didn’t have to be here long to touch our lives forever. She was absolutely beautiful and flawless in every way except for her heart which broken and now, so is ours. She had to go back to her Heavenly Father due to congenital heart defects which were beyond repair.
Avery is the only daughter to Steven and Leah Hallows, the only sister to Austin, Colton and Kaden Hallows, the grandchild of Koze and Andrea Hallows, and the first granddaughter of Fred Pokrinchak and Barbara Pokrin. Avery also has one great-grandparent living, Carol Stoker. She was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
As hard as it was to say goodbye to this precious infant, we hold faith in our Heavenly Father’s plan that we will see her again and be able to enjoy the time we missed with her on this earth.
A viewing with be held on Sunday, March 15 from 6-8pm at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home in Heber City. Private family services and burial will be held the following day.

She is beautiful and I know such a strong and valiant spirit. What a comfort it is to know that our precious children are going to return to our Heavenly Father flawless and without sin because of their innocence. I wish we were all so lucky. I hope you guys are able to feel some comfort. You have been in my prayers all week and I love your family.

Avery is beautiful. My heart breaks for you and your boys. Her journey was short, however, she touch more people in her short time here, then most do in a life time. As always you are our prayers and thoughts. We love you.

It has taken me a while to write on Avery's blog but as I looked at her picture the day after her funeral I knew I needed to write. I am numb most of the time; relief comes only in the quiet times when I can cry; my job is really to support and help my family thru this very sad time; so I wash a dish, do a load of clothes, make Grandma noodles for the boys, get up early to take Austin to school, and give you and Steven some quiet time. My heart is broken for you and Steven and the boys, time will help but I know that Avery changed all of our lives forever. I will look for her spirit everywhere I go. I am so grateful for your family here in Utah, for your ward, for your Bishop, for your kitty, for the mountains that surround you, for your dearest friends, for the support you will find with Intermountain Hearts, for your faith, for your strength, for the sweet laughter of your young boys, for the devotion your oldest son has for you, for Steven's love, and for your love of Steven. If I could take this pain away from you I would in a minute; but I cannot; only Heavenly Father can do that and so your family must go to HIM; He knows every tear you shed, every hair on your head, every ache in your heart, and most of all, He Loves You even more than I do.

i don't know you Mom, but your words to Leah and Steven are truly beautiful. you have written the words that every parent would share with there child at a time such as this. my heart breaks for the pain you are going through at this time and my prayers are for your familys healing. you are very much loved by friends and family. the Kose Hollows family has ment a lot to the Gary Coleman family, with the friendships that have brought our familys together for the past 30 years. Know that we love you all.

Mommy to Mary Clare, HLHS
You guys don't know me, but I feel compelled to make a comment. Hopefully you do not mind. I came across your blog (and Gracie's) recently and my heart is just aching for you guys. My sister-in-law recently found out she is pregnant with an HLHS baby, and in my efforts to support her, have come across many heart blogs. About six years ago, I too found out I was pregnant with an unhealthy baby (brain related problem, not heart). But mine was a similiar situation to your own in that we had plans for surgery to correct her problems...but shortly after she was born, complications arose and her health declined quickly and we also chose to take her off of life support as recommended by her physicians.
ReplyDeleteI take great comfort in the revelations from Joseph Smith, "the Lord takes many away, even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man, and the sorrows and evils of this present world; they were too pure, and too lovely, to live on the earth."
In an old graveyard in New Jersey, an infant's tombstone was found with this inscription, "The Crown without the Conflict"
Truly, Avery has received her crown without having to go thru the conflict.
These thoughts were shared in the hopes they bring a small semblence of comfort during this heart aching time...and to know many are mourning with you...even strangers like me.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. May the Lord grant you peace and comfort, with the knowledge that one day you will be united with your beautiful daughter.

As a mommy to an angel with a chd I know how very broken your hearts are. It's only been two and a half months since our darling Jersey recieved her wings. Her obituary was every bit as precious as she IS! Though her life was short it has touched many hearts and great lessons have been learned because of her. I'm so sorry you have to travel this road, only the elite. She is perfect, happy, and yours FOREVER! When you need to scream or cry or simply need some one who just knows please e-mail or call! heidi.anderson@cox.net
